Population explosion is defined as the rapid increase in population over a short time. It is a condition where the economy of the country cannot cope up with the rapid growth of the population. Evidently, the largest contributing countries to population explosion are the developing countries. Some reasons behind the population explosion include: A decline in the death rate includes a decrease in the maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate. Increase in the number of people in reproducible age. Advancing medical facilities. People nowadays are educated and aware of diseases. Farmers are well-equipped and know about crop improvement. Various adverse effects occurring due to population explosion are: Poverty- As the population size increase, per capita income decreases, and this leads to poverty. Unemployment- The number of vacancies in different sectors is not increasing as the population. So this is creating massive unemployment. Pollution- Increase in population is directly proportional to the usage of resources, which leads to more pollution. Education- It is difficult for the Government to provide education to every people. Suggestions to control the population explosion would be: People of reproductive age should be educated about the advantage of a small family. People with small families should be encouraged by giving incentives in the form of money or other things. People should be aware of family planning and its benefits to them and society. Raising the marriageable age is the most effective means to control overpopulation.
