Brain: The brain is an organ of the central nervous system and is considered the command centre of the body. It is the most complex organ that controls body activities, physiological processes, integrates and coordinates information, etc. The brain is one of the largest organ housed inside the bony covering called the cranium. The human brain forms 90% of the weight of the entire nervous system. The average weight of the human brain is 1200 to 1400 grams.

The human brain is divided into three regions, which are the forebrain, midbrain and hindbrain. The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. It is covered by a succession of three membrane called meninges.

The brain controls most functions in the human body, such as thoughts, memory, speech, vision, processing of language, lateralisation, motor and sensory functions, etc.
