(a) Africa- This continent consists of several plateaus. A large part of this continent is covered with deserts such as the Sahara desert, the Kalhari desert, etc. It is the only continent through which all three important latitudes passes.

(b) Asia- It is a land of high mountains, vast plateaus, extensive plains and fertile river valleys.

(c) Australia- The Great Barrier Reef is a unique feature found on the north-eastern coast of Australia. Australia is a plateau with a few low isolated mountains.

(d) Europe- It is a continent of high mountains and vast plains. Finland of Europe is known as the country of lakes.

(e) North America- It has plateaus, mountain ranges and extensive plains. Grasslands known as Prairies are an important feature of North America.

(f) South America- Half of South America is occupied by the lowlands. The Andes mountain range is the longest mountain chain in the world.

(g) Antarctica- It is known as the White continent as it is covered by thick ice sheets. It has some mountain ranges and plateaus.
