Role of Press in Nationalism:

The anti-Indian policies of the British government were highlighted in publications of the time. People were urged to unite and work together for a better future and a common cause.

The English and vernacular press both became vehicles for mobilisation, expressing a public opinion and instilling a sense of national pride and bonding amongst the Indian masses.

Swadeshi Movement:

It was started after the Bengal partition in $1905$ . Its goal was to popularise Indian-made goods so that Indian industry might thrive. The boycott technique centred on persuading people to boycott goods made in England and Europe. As a result, the British would no longer regard India as a dumping ground for their commodities.

People began boycotting British goods in favour of Indian-made items. Huge bonfires of foreign clothing were lit in certain locations. People were chastised for wearing clothing made in England and Europe. In these movements, students and women played a crucial role. They protested in front of shops that sold foreign goods.
