A-(iii) The nasal chamber is the chamber that is present inside the nose. It is lined by the mucous membrane and tiny hairs. The air passing through the nasal chamber is humidified, warmed, and purified. B-(v) Epiglottis is a cartilage that is present at the top of the larynx. The main function of it is to close the windpipe during eating so that the food is not accidentally inhaled. C-(vi) The alveoli are air sacs that are lined by squamous epithelium. This epithelium is richly supplied with a thin network of blood vessels called capillaries. It is through these capillaries that gaseous exchange takes place. D-(vii) The lungs are the primary respiratory organs. They are soft and spongy because they are air spaces surrounded by the alveolar cells and elastic connective tissue. They contract and relax as the air is inhaled and exhaled out. E-(i) The larynx or the voice box is present in the neck. It is involved in breathing, protecting the trachea against food aspiration, and producing sound. During puberty in males, it enlarges to form Adam's apple due to which they develop a deep voice. This function is controlled by the testosterone hormone. F-(ii) Trachea or a windpipe connects the larynx and the bronchi. It is a cartilaginous tube that is made up of C-shaped rings, joined together by ligaments. G-(iv) Cilia are small hair-like structures that are present in the bronchus of the lungs.
