Nitrogen is present in the nitrogenous base of DNA and the amino group of amino acids. So, 15 N cannot prove that DNA is the genetic material as it is present in both the protein (polymer of amino acids) and DNA as well. The use of 35 S could give an idea about the protein, but here instead of 35 S, 15 N is used, which can not specifically trace the protein. As both the isotopes will trace the DNA movement, we can not trace or get any idea about proteins specifically. Hence, we can not prove DNA to be the genetic material.
