Electrocardiograph or ECG is the graphic representation of the heart activity. It is represented by three different waves known as P wave, QRS complex and T wave. P wave Is slightly deflected and represents the atrial depolarisation. It represents the contraction of the atrial musculature. The QRS complex is an upright wave that represents the ventricular depolarisation during which the ventricles undergo cardiac systole. It is followed by a small T wave that represent the ventricular repolarisation. The first electrocardiogram (ECG) from the intact human heart was recorded with a mercury capillary electrometer by Augustus Waller in May 1887 at St. Mary's Hospital, London
