(i) - (d) Fungi do not have chlorophyll in them and thus can not prepare their own food. They are seen growing on dead and decayed organic matter and hence are known as saprophytes. Bread mould is an example of saprophytes that grow on moist or decayed bread. (ii) - (a) Algae are usually green, chlorophyllous and prepare their own food by photosynthesis. Spirogyra is a filamentous alga most commonly found in ponds and they are green and having chlorophyll. (iii) - (e) Bryophyta plants lack roots instead they have rhizoids but posses stems and leaves. The mosses are the examples of Bryophyta that are green, velvety layers but grow only at moist places such as damp soil on barks of trees or damp walls. (iv) - (b) The leaves of ferns bear tiny spore which gets scattered to produce a new plant. Ferns are examples of class Pteridophyta and are seen growing in gardens for their beautiful leaves. (v) - (c) Gymnosperms are flowering plants that bear seeds but no fruits i.e., their seeds are thin and naked, not enclosed in fruits. Pine, fir, cedar, etc are the examples.
