India is broadly divided into six primary physical features:

The Southern Plateaus: The central and southern regions of India are dominated by plateaus. The Deccan Plateau is the largest, covering most of southern India.

The Coastal Plains: India has two major coastal regions—the western coast along the Arabian Sea and the eastern coast along the Bay of Bengal.

The Islands: India has two main groups of islands. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are situated in the southeastern part of the Bay of Bengal. Lakshadweep Islands located in the Arabian Sea to the southwest of the Indian subcontinent.
