a)- v The cell wall is the outermost layer of the plant cell that is made up of cellulose. It provides protection and shape to the cell. b)- vii The nucleus contains the genetic material of a cell. It is considered the brain of the cell because it can regulate the functioning of the cell. Thus, the nucleus regulates all the activities of the cell. c)- ix Golgi bodies are the cell organelles that look like a pile of sacs. These sacs have a disc-like shape. They modify fats and proteins and pack them to transport. Thus, golgi bodies are involved in packaging of material to transport. For d)- viii. Endoplasmic reticulum synthesizes, stores, and transmits proteins and lipids in the cell. Thus, endoplasmic reticulum is responsible for the transportation of materials. e)- ii A cell membrane is the thin porous membrane that surrounds the cell. It is a semipermeable membrane. Thus, cell membrane regulates the entry and exit of substances from the cell. f)- iii The cell contains storage sacs within the cytoplasm that are called vacuoles. They store food and various nutrients that are necessary for the survival of the cell. Thus, vacuoles are responsible for storage of food and other nutrients. g)- i Ribosomes are either scattered in the cytoplasm or attached to the surface of the endoplasmic reticulum. They serve as the site for the protein synthesis. h)- iv Lysosomes consist of enzymes that can digest cells and various cellular waste materials. They can explode and damage the cell in case of an emergency. Thus, lysosomes is responsible in digestion of cell waste. i)- vi Chloroplast is a type of plastid that is present in plant cells and it contains the pigment chlorophyll. It helps plants in food preparation or photosynthesis. Thus, chloroplast serves as the site of photosynthesis.
