Question

Today by renting a taxi we are going to Shalboni. There is my maternal uncle's house. We have started at $7 am$ . I have written in the information below on the chart of how much path our car crossed every hour.

Let's draw the graph of the data in the graph paper.

Distance covered (in kilometres)	$50$	$10$	$150$	$200$

Let's find from the graph that how much distance the car crossed till $10 : 30 am$ and when the car crossed $125 km$

Accepted Answer

We plot time on $X - axis$ with a scale $1 cm = 1 hour$

We plot distance covered on $Y - axis$ with the scale $1 cm = 50 kilometres$

We got the required graph like below.

Car started at $7 am$ so the difference between $10 : 30 am$ and $7 am$ is

$= 10 : 30 - 7 : 00 = 3 : 30 = 3.5 hours$

From the graph,

The corresponding $Y co - ordinate$ for $X co - ordinate 3.5$ is $175$ .

The corresponding for $X co - ordinate$ for $Y co - ordinate 125$ is $2.5$ .

$2.5 = 2 : 30 hours$

Hence, the car crossed $175 km$ till $10 : 30 am$ and the car crossed $125 km$ at $7 am + 2 : 30 am = 9 : 30 am$ .
