I prepared two types of beverages in my house. The ratio of measurement of syrup and water in two types of beverage are 2:7 and 1:5 respectively. Let's try to calculate what ratio of the measurements of the two beverages needs to be mixed so that the ratio of syrup and water will be 5:21

Answer:

Let's think x litres of the first beverage mixed with y litre of the second beverage.

 The quantity of syrup in the x litre of the  first beverage=29×x litres=2x9 litres
And the quantity of water is =??×? litre=7x9 litre
 The quantity of syrup in the y litres of the second beverage is 16×y litres =y6 litres
And the quantity of water is 56×y litres=5y6 litres
The quantity of syrup in the new beverage is =2x9 litres+y6 litres

=2x9+y6 litre
And the quantity of water is =7x9 litres+5y6 litres

=7x9+5y6 litres

According to the condition,

2x9+y67x9+5y6=521

212x9+y6=57x9+5y6

214x+3y18=514x+15y18

214x+3y=514x+15y

84x+63y=70x+75y

84x-70x=75y-63y

14x=12y

xy=1214=67

x:y=6:7
