Motor neurons are neurons located in the central nervous system. They project their axons outside of the central nervous system to directly or indirectly control the muscles. The structure of motor neuron is multipolar i.e., each cell contains a single axon and multiple dendrites. This is the most common types of neuron. It gets information from other neurons and conveys to the commands to the muscles.

The basic structural and functional unit of the nervous system is a nerve cell or neuron. A nerve cell or neuron consists of three main parts: cyton, axon and dendrites (dendrons). In terms of functions, scientists classify neurons into three broad types: sensory, motor, and interneurons.
