a) Subtracting from the units place:
$∵$ Unit place of $1000000$ is smaller than unit place of $* * * * 1$ , i.e $0 < 1$ .
By borrowing $1$ digit from the previous digits, it becomes $10$ .
$\Rightarrow 10 - 1 = *$ $\Rightarrow * = 9$ which is the unit place of subtracted value.

b) Subtracting from the tens place:
Since, borrowing $1$ has changed the value of the $1000000$ , we have
$\Rightarrow 9 - * = 2$ $\Rightarrow * = 9 - 2 = 7$ .

c) Subtracting from the hundreds place:
$\Rightarrow 9 - * = 4$ $\Rightarrow * = 9 - 4 = 5$

d) Subtracting from the thousands place:
$\Rightarrow 9 - * = 0$ $\Rightarrow * = 9$

e) Subtracting from the ten thousands place:

f) Hundred thousands place:
$\Rightarrow 9 = *$

Hence, we have
