The body moving with a uniform velocity. So, we can say that the motion of the body is uniform motion. The distance covered by the body in a time interval is constant. If we draw a position-time graph we get a straight line.

In this, the speed of the body is increasing from 0 s to 4 s uniformly. At this time interval, we can call the motion as uniformly accelerated motion. From 4 s to 8 s its speed is not changing with time. So, at this time the motion is called uniform motion. After 8 s , the speed is decreasing.

From A to B, the motion is uniformly accelerated motion. If the velocity-time graph is having a constant slope, then the motion is uniformly accelerated or retarded motion. From, the graph it is clear that from A to B, the velocity is increasing at a constant rate and from C to D, the velocity is decreasing at a constant rate(uniform retardation). The motion from A to B, can be also called as decelerated or negatively accelerated motion. From B to C, the acceleration is zero, therefore, the velocity is constant and the motion is called uniform motion. Position of the object in the graph. Nature of the motion. From A to B.
