(a) — (viii) Parenchyma is a type of simple permanent tissue. It contains living cells. The primary purpose of the parenchyma is to store and absorb food.

(b) — (xii) Collenchyma is a mechanical tissue in young dicotyledonous stems and provides mechanical support and elasticity. The tissue is made up of cells that have thickened cell walls at their corners.

(c) — (ii) Sclerenchyma is a type of simple permanent tissue that is composed of dead cells. The cell walls of sclerenchyma are greatly thickened with chemicals, lignin. Their main function is to provide mechanical support.

(d) — (x) Xylem is a complex/ conducting/ vascular tissue. The xylem's primary role is to transport water and mineral salts from the roots to various sections of the shoots.

(e) — (ix) Translocation is the movement of materials from leaves to other tissues throughout the plant. Translocation is carried out by the phloem tissue.

(f) — (v) Squamous epithelium is a compact tissue made up of thin, flat, irregular-shaped cells that fit together like floor tiles. It can be found in the lining of alveoli, a nephron's bowman's capsule, and blood vessels.

(g) — (iii) Striated muscle is a type of muscle fibre. These are also known as striped, skeletal, or voluntary muscles. Since they are attached to the bones and are responsible for body movements, they are called skeletal muscles.

(h) — (i) Cardiac muscles are involuntary muscles. The fibres of this muscle are branched and multinucleated. These fibres are distinguished by the presence of intercalating discs. They serve as stimulants.

(i) — (vi) Neuron is the structural and functional unit of the nervous system. It has three parts: cell body, axon, and nerve endings. A single long part (process) projecting out of soma (cell body of a neuron) is called the axon.

(j) — (iv) Haversian canals are a series of microscopic tubes in the outermost region of bone called cortical bone that allows blood vessels and nerves to travel through them.
