The Indian constitution came into effect in January, $1950$ . There are approximately $90, 000$ words in the Indian Constitution. This makes it the lengthiest constitution in the world. Some salient features of the Indian constitution are as follows:

It provides the voting right to all its eligible citizens irrespective of caste, colour, or creed. Hence, the supreme power is vested in the hands of the Indian population.

Article $39$ of the Indian constitution ensures economic and social justice to all citizens of India. Hence, the rights of the weaker sections are secured by the constitution.

Fundamental rights are provided to all Indian citizens. Subsequently, Citizens also have to fulfill certain duties. Some fundamental duties are respecting the nation's integrity and unity.

The Indian constitution declares practicing untouchability as an offense. All citizens stand as equal before the law.

The constitution also ensures an independent judiciary. The constitution established a biased and unjust form of Judiciary.
