\nIn a superconductor, below ‘critical temperature', the electrical resistance suddenly falls to zero. As electrical resistance becomes zero, there is no loss of energy during power transmission. \nSo, Assertion and Reason are both true but Reason does not explain Assertion.

The actual explanation is beyond the scope of JEE/NEET syllabus, but still, we can have some idea. On a microscopic scale, according to Quantum Physics, electrons behave like small waves. When there is a flaw or when one of the atoms of the crystal pattern is vibrating, the wave gets disrupted. At a very low temperature, the electrons pair up and merge into one quantum wave that fills the whole material. This unique wave becomes insensitive to the flaws in the material. They are too small to slow the whole wave. The electric resistance has hence disappeared.
