To empower these marginalized groups, the makers of the Constitution have given certain special considerations to them in the Indian Constitution. For example, the Constitution protects these marginalized groups from discrimination through the right to equality. The Constitution further allows the government to formulate special policies and schemes for people from Scheduled Castes, tribes, and Backward Communities to empower them. These schemes include reservation of seats in government jobs and educational institutions, financial aids and so on.
