The Indigo rebellion can be described as follows:

The Indigo rebellion was commonly known as the 'Blue rebellion'. It happened just after India's first freedom revolution in $1859$ . The Ryots and cultivators refused to produce indigo. This crop ruined their land of fertility.

The Ryots became violent and attacked the indigo processing factories and their workers with swords, spears and arrows. The women also became a part of this fight.

The Zamindars took advantage and supported the Ryots in this fight. The Zamindars were losing control over the area to the planters and rich farmers who gave low interest rates and had a local presence. This agitation was led by farmers of Nadia, Bengal.

An indigo commission was set up by the British government and found the planters guilty of using forceful methods to produce indigo.
