It appears dark and is spongy because of the presence of humus. 3 - D The organisms which derive their food from the dead and decaying animals/plants are called saprotrophs (or saprophytes). Bacteria, Mushrooms and Yeast are some common saprotrophs. 4 - B Animals disperse seeds of certain plants through their droppings.
