In this chapter, we will study the solution of equations, solving equations that have linear expressions, solving equations having the variable on both sides. We will also look into word problems of equations in one variable.

This chapter mainly deals with different forms of formulae and their expansion. Areas of a square and a rectangle using expansion formulae, expansion of the cube of (a+b) and (a-b), and expansion of the square of (a+b+c) are explained.

In this chapter, we will learn about factorization of algebraic expressions, factorization of a quadratic trinomial by splitting the middle term and rational algebraic expressions. We will also discuss factorization using various identities.
