AP Police Constable Prelims Eligibility Criteria 2022

The Andhra Pradesh Police have laid down the eligibility criteria for both post-codes 21 and 23. Candidates who are interested in applying for the exam should fulfil the eligibility criteria to appear for the exam. Also, for post-code 21, both females and males are eligible, whereas for post-code 23, only male candidates can apply. Details of the Andhra Pradesh Police Constable eligibility criteria are provided below.

Age Criteria

Check the age limit criteria below:

• Candidates who have been on duty as Home Guards for a minimum duration of 360 days within a period of two years and who are still continuing service as Home Guards must be a minimum of 18 years of age and a maximum of 32 years of age.
• All other candidates should be below the age of 18 and above the age of 24.

Educational Qualification

The education qualifications required by candidates to successfully apply for the Prelims exams are as follows:

• General Candidate must have passed intermediate (12th Standard) or equivalent in an institution recognised by the state government as of July 1, 2022.
• SC/ST candidates must have passed SSC or equivalent from an institution recognised by the state government of Andhra Pradesh as of July 1, 2022.

Medical Standard Requirements

All candidates who apply for the AP Police Constable Prelims exam must satisfy the medical standard required by the conducting body. The requirements are as follows:

• Each eye must have a full field of vision.
• Colour blindness, squint or any morbid eye condition or lids of either eye shall be deemed a disqualification.
• The candidate should possess sound health and be free from any bodily defect or infirmity which will render him unfit.
• Candidates who have the following ailments or defects will not be considered for recruitment to any post specified in this rule:
  • Physically handicapped.
  • Knocking knees, pigeon chest, flat feet, Varicose veins, Hammer toes, fractured limbs, decayed teeth, stammering, hard of hearing and abnormal psychological behaviour.
