UGC NET Syllabus 2023: The University Grants Commission (UGC) prescribes the syllabus for the NET exam in its official notification. This exam has two papers consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates willing to attempt this exam can check the syllabus for all 83 subjects on the official website – ugcnet.nta.nic.in, or directly from this page. Knowing the entire subject-wise syllabus is the most crucial step in preparing for the upcoming exam.

**Steps to practice exam questions are mentioned below.
This will help aspirants to gain a better understanding of the important exam topics. Additionally, it will help them develop a study schedule that covers every subject from the syllabus. The July 2023 exam will be conducted from June 13 to 22, 2023, in two shifts: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Read this article to get the detailed syllabus.
The UGC NET Syllabus for Paper 1 includes Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Reading Comprehension, Communication, Reasoning (including Mathematics), Logical Reasoning, and so on. However, in Paper 2, candidates are supposed to select any one subject from the list of 81 subjects. This exam tests the eligibility of candidates for ‘Assistant Professor’ and/or ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ in Indian universities and colleges.
Candidates are required to complete both papers in a duration of 3 hours. Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 have a different syllabus, which the candidates must be aware of in order to prepare well for the exam. Scroll down to check and download the syllabus.

The UGC NET Paper 1 Syllabus is intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of candidates. This exam is common to all applicants. In order to clear Paper 1, candidates are expected to possess good cognitive abilities, including comprehension, analysis, evaluation, structure of arguments, and deductive and inductive reasoning.
They are also expected to have a general awareness of teaching and learning processes in the higher education system. Further, they should be aware of the interaction between people, the environment, natural resources, and their impact on the quality of life.

A passage will be given, and candidates must answer the questions asked

Structure of institutions for higher learning and research in India, formal and distance education, professional, technical and general education, value education, governance, polity, and administration, concept, institutions and their interactions.
Note: 5 questions, each carrying 2 marks, will be set from each module. Whenever graphical or pictorial questions are asked for sighted candidates, a passage followed by an equal number of questions and weightage will be set for visually impaired candidates.
The subject that applicants selected while completing their application is included in the UGC NET Paper 2 Syllabus. The Paper 2 exam has 100 questions and awards two marks for each accurate response. The highest possible score for Paper 2 is 200.
