The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) is the official education board in the State of Madhya Pradesh. The educational body was established under the Madhya Pradesh Secondary Education Act 1965. The Board implements various effective education systems to provide quality education to all its students. The Board aims to instil reading habits among the students and encourage scientific curiosity among them. The Board also conducts board examinations for classes 10 and 12. It designs the curriculum, decides the extra-curricular activities that supplement education and also helps students learn different cultures and practices.

All the schools affiliated with MPBSE follow the guidelines set by the Board. These schools also follow the curriculum prescribed by the Board. MPBSE updates its textual content occasionally to keep it relevant to the changes that occur in certain domains that students need to be made aware of.

MPBSE Board Grading System / Marking Scheme

The grading system denotes a student’s result obtained in his/her final examination. The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education grading system signified the grade and remark allotted to students depending on the marks percentage secured by them. The MPBSE Board grading system for primary classes differs from secondary and higher secondary classes. Thus, students should know the grading system for their respective classes. MPBSE Grading System for Primary Classes

The grading system for MPBSE primary classes depends on the marks percentage scored by the students in the annual examination. The more marks secured, the better the grade and remark. The grading system of MP Board primary classes is from A* to D. A* is awarded to students who get 90% or higher in their final exam. The remark awarded for scoring 90% and above is ‘Outstanding’. Grade D is the lowest grade given to students with less than 35% in the final exam. Students must study harder and improve their understanding of the chapter topics, to perform well in the final examination.

MPBSE Practical Exams

The Madhya Pradesh Board of School Education holds practical exams for board classes 10 and 12 as a part of the annual board exam. Out of the maximum marks for specific subjects, some marks are assigned to the practical examination. For Classes 10 and 12, the practical examination is conducted nearly a month before the theory examination is set to begin. Students have to also pass the practical exams.
