(a) Citizen of India

(b) Subject of Nepal

(c) Subject of Bhutan

(d) Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention to permanently settle in India.

(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention to settle permanently in India.

Note: Candidates claiming eligibility under clauses (b) and (e) must hold an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.
