Established in 1969, it is the authority which conducts public examinations at Middle, Matric and Senior Secondary school. It is administered by the State Government of Haryana. As the board’s headquarters is in Bhiwani, it is also popularly called Haryana Bhiwani Board. All the schools under the Haryana Board must implement the guidelines and structure issued by the Board. The board prescribes the affiliated schools’ syllabi, textbooks and other additional details.

The Haryana Board conducts exams for classes 6 to 8. The results are provided in the marking system. These marks are provided to students depending on their performance and their scores. For higher classes, there is a single annual exam. It is generally conducted in February/March every year.
The BSEH grading system is different for primary classes and secondary classes. In classes 6 to 8, students obtain the percentage of marks scored by them. Thus, the higher the overall marks in all the subjects, the higher their percentage and grade will be. In primary classes, students are given grades based on their performance. In secondary classes, the grading system includes grade points. The grading system is similar to the primary grading system. Students are given grades based on their scores in their exams.
