About Exam

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) conducts the recruitment exam to induct suitable candidates for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) every year. The LIC AAO selection process comprises three stages, i.e., Prelims, Mains and Interview. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature. However, the marks of the mains exam and interview will be considered for the final selection.

Previous Year Analysis

As the name implies, a LIC Assistant Administrative Officer entails administrative responsibilities and has a desk job. However, the roles and responsibilities differ slightly based on the department. In general, the LIC AAO is responsible for the following tasks:

  • LIC AAOs must assist the Administrative Officer or the department head in supervising the overall operation of the department.
  • They must work with other departments to coordinate and communicate
  • As AAO they must support consumers and customers whenever they demand it.
  • They will conduct studies and develop innovative schemes

The only eligibility criteria to appear for the LIC AAO Mains exam is to qualify in the prelims exam. However, if candidates fail to meet the following eligibility criteria, they will not be permitted to attempt the examination.

To be eligible for LIC AAO (Generalist), candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised Indian University/Institution.

  • The officials do not consider any other equivalent educational qualification.

LIC AAO Mains Exam Pattern 2023

Exam counselling

The LIC AAO Mains exam is generally conducted online. Candidates who have been shortlisted based on their performance in the prelims exam are the only ones invited to take the mains exam.

  • LIC AAO Mains examination will be conducted for 325 marks, where the objective test carries 300 marks and the descriptive test carries 25 marks.
  • The objective and descriptive tests will be available online.

  • Following the completion of the objective test, a descriptive test will be given. Candidates must take a descriptive test on a computer.
