RRB Group D Preparation Tips

RRB Group D preparation needs a smart and methodical approach. Once you are thorough with the Group D exam pattern and syllabus, you need to create a proper timetable based on your needs, convenience, strengths and weaknesses. You have to allocate separate time slots for each section. More time should be spent on sections that you find difficult.

Preparation for Mathematics

This section needs one to memorise a huge number of formulas which might seem difficult. But with regular practice of formulas and numericals, it is possible to remember them and master all the topics. Make sure you have the concepts clear. Otherwise, you might not identify the various questions asked.

Many students find the Mathematics section difficult, but your problem-solving abilities will improve if you practice a sufficient number of questions.

Do not try to memorise the various shortcuts and tricks directly. Solve a sufficient number of questions first.

Preparation for General Intelligence & Reasoning

This section needs the application of theoretical knowledge, common sense, and analytical and critical thinking. It might sound like a lot of work, but it is possible to master this section. Understand the theory behind various concepts, then understand the steps involved to approach and solve problems. Go through example problems to get an idea and practice them. Practice questions from other sources as well. The more you practice, the better your analytical application skills get. Keep track of your time to solve questions and improve your time management.

Preparation for General Science

You need to thoroughly finish the NCERT Class 9 and 10 Science textbooks for this section. Here again, you must have a clear understanding of the concepts. Also, the various formulas, scientific names, simple equations, and other details should be at your fingertips so that you don’t have to think much to answer questions. Although this section covers a large number of topics, it is an easy and scoring section.

Preparation for General Awareness on Current Affairs

For this section, read newspapers and current affairs magazines published for government job exams regularly. Focus mainly on the events and issues from the last six months. Make notes as you study and revise them regularly as you need to memorise a lot of information for this section.

Solve a sufficient number of questions in a time-bound manner for each section. Also, take RRB Group D mock tests and previous year papers.

RRB Group D Mock Test

The RRB will release a mock test link for candidates to get an idea about the pattern of the exam and the difficulty level. The mock test can be taken online from any computer system or mobile phone with internet connectivity. The link to take mock tests will be available on the RRB official website a few days before the exam.
