TS ePASS Scholarship Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the scholarships differ from one to one. But one eligibility criterion is common to all: “Candidates must be a permanent resident of Telangana state“.The eligibility criteria are listed below:

TS ePASS Pre-Matric Scholarships For SC/ST/BC/Disabled Welfare	Students studying in Classes 9 and 10 are eligible to apply. Minimum attendance should be 75%, at the end of each quarter. Annual Income should be less than 2 Lakhs
TS ePASS Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) for SC/ST/BC/Disabled Welfare	Students who have cleared Class 10 exams with 75% attendance. Should have enrolled for Class 11.
TS ePASS Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC/EBC Overseas Vidya Nidhi, Telangana	Students with Bachelor’s degrees ready to pursue postgraduate studies from a university abroad can apply. The maximum age limit is 30 years as of 1st July of the year of application. Annual family income should be Less than INR 1.5 Lakh (for rural areas) and less than INR 2 Lakh (for urban areas) Only applicable to the single child of the family. The minimum percentage of marks needed is 60% for branches like management, engineering, humanities, social sciences, pure sciences, medicine, nursing, and agriculture science.
TS ePASS Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities	The scholarship is available for graduate or postgraduate scholars in branches like management, engineering, social sciences, pure sciences, medicine, nursing, agriculture sciences, and humanities. The minimum percentage of scores in the qualifying exam must be 60%. The students must be willing to seek a postgraduate or doctoral degree abroad in the USA, UK, Australia, Singapore, and Canada. The maximum age limit is 30 years as of 1 July of the year of application. Annual family income should be Less than INR 2 Lakh.
TS ePASS Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi for SC/ST Students	The scholarship is available for graduate or postgraduate scholars in branches like management, engineering, social sciences, pure sciences, medicine, nursing, agriculture sciences, and humanities. The minimum percentage of scores in the qualifying exam must be 60%. The students must be willing to seek a postgraduate or doctoral degree abroad in the USA, UK, Australia, Singapore, and Canada. The maximum age limit is 35 years as of 1st July of the year of the advertisement. Annual family income should be Less than INR 2 Lakh (SC students) and less than INR 2.50 Lakh (ST students).

• Step 3: A new page will open once you click on the scholarship. If you are a new user, click on the link “New Registration“.

• Step 5: Move on to the section to upload your documents. Upload all the necessary documents.
• Step 6: Review your ePASS application form.
• Step 7: Click on the “Submit” button.

TS ePass Renewal Process

TS ePASS Application Rejection Reasons

Some of the scholarship applications will be rejected due to the following reasons:

• Candidate not being a bona fide student.
• Claiming a scholarship for the same level of course.
• Detained students.
• If the candidate fails to submit a caste and income certificate.
• If the student is absent.
• If the student is admitted under the management quota.
• Incorrect caste information.
• Incorrect course and year of study information.
• Non-receiving of the renewal proposal.
• Previous sanction verification for renewal.
• Recommendation not given by field officer.

Types of TS ePass Scholarships

Students who are eligible to avail of the scholarship will be provided with the following rewards:

1. Telangana Epass Pre-Matric Scholarships For SC/ST/BC/Disabled Welfare
a. Variable monetary awards

2. Telangana Epass Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) for SC/ST/BC/Disabled Welfare
a. Almost like 100% reimbursement in tuition fees (for most of the program).
b. Around INR 20,000 or actual fee (for self-financed courses).

3. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC/EBC Overseas Vidya Nidhi, Telangana
a. The government will cover the costs of living for the selected academics. The following are some of the additional advantages:
b. After the students present their visa, landing permission, or immigration card, the government will pay the institution INR 10,00,000 as the first instalment (I-94 card).
c. After the foreign university submits the first-semester results, the government will award INR 10,00,000 as the second instalment.
d. At the present rate of interest, the chosen students will be eligible for an educational loan of INR 10,00,000 from any nationalised bank.
e. The government offers a one-way economy-class aircraft ticket for the shortest trip. Students must present a visa and evidence of admission to be eligible for this benefit.
f. When a visa and receipt are shown, the government will reimburse the whole visa cost.
g. With the permission of their respective university, the scholars will get utilisation certificates.

4. Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
a. The students should come from minority groups.
b. Their family’s annual income should not exceed INR 2,00,000.
c. Candidates must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, management, pure sciences, agriculture sciences, medicine, nursing, social sciences, or the humanities
d. They must have received at least a 60% on their last qualifying exams.
e. Candidates must be under the age of 30 as of July 1st of the current year.
f. They should have a valid GRE/GMAT, TOEFL/IELTS, or other similar exam scores.
g. Students should be open to studying in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, or Australia.
h. The award is only available to one child per family.
i. The scholarship advantages are only available to candidates once in their lives.

5. Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi for SC, ST Students
a. Up to INR 10 Lakh towards living expenses and fees.
b. An educational loan of INR 5 Lakh.
c. Passage grant.
d. Visa fees.

Courses Eligible for Telangana ePass Scholarships

The Post Matric Scholarship scheme is provided for all the post-matric programs that have a duration of at least one year. Furthermore, it should have been approved by the concerned University and Board. The courses that are eligible for the Post Matric Scheme are divided into four criteria. These include-

Group I– Group I comprises all the professional courses. These usually include PG Courses and Degrees in Engineering, Technology, Veterinary, and Allied Sciences, Management, Finance, Business, Technology, Computer Applications or Science, Commercial Pilot License Course, and Business Administration. 

Group II– Group II usually has degrees related to technical graduation, PG programs, and other professional programs. The Group II courses may include PhD, M.Phil, and Post-Doctoral research. All the programs that are not a part of Group I will be a part of Group II. The course will also be eligible for postgraduate and graduate-level diploma courses. It will be efficient for all the certificate level courses n

Group III– Group III contains all the postgraduate degrees or programs that are not a part of Group I and Group II. In many instances, Group III also consists of National Institute of Fashion Technology courses. 

Group IV– Group IV consists of the intermediate and intermediate level vocational courses. Furthermore, it will also contain ITI/ITCs. 

However, the ePass Telangana Scholarship program will not be awarded for the following training courses-

• Private Pilot Licence Courses
• Courses at Pre-Examination Training Centres of State and All India Levels. 
• Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Course. 

TS ePass Scholarships Offered

The Government of Telangana provides numerous schemes for the upliftment and benefits of the citizens. The applicants can visit the Telangana official website to check for all the schemes available for the Schedule Caste, Backward Class, and Scheduled Tribe Community. However, most of these schemes may include pension, fee reduction, health passes, and more benefits. 

Within the TS ePass portal, the schemes that are offered for the reserved category include the following:

• Shaadi Mubarak

This is one of the most prominent marriage schemes where financial assistance will be provided to the applicant as per the Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam. 

• Scheduled Castes Development

This scheme is mostly important for the tribal state. Telangana has a majority of communities and tribes that belong to the unreserved election of society. The government had introduced a budget of 1096 Cr for the welfare of the community. 

• Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam

The beneficiary will receive only one-time assistance as per the scheme. The providing authority will give a one-time assistance amount of around Rs 1,00,116 to determine their welfare. 

• Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

According to this scholarship scheme, only the eligible and intelligent students from the reserved category will receive a scholarship amount of Rs 20 lakhs. The amount will only be given if the student is credible enough. The plan has been introduced to ensure that the students get an opportunity to study abroad. The scheme will cover all the students belonging to the minority community. 

• Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi

The scheme shares the same features as the Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities. However, instead of the minority, students belonging to the SC/ST caste will be eligible for this scholarship. Meritorious students from the SC and ST community will be eligible to receive a Scholarship amount of Rs 20 lakh to continue their education overseas. 

• Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC Overseas Vidya Nidhi

This scheme shares the same features as Ambedkar Overseas Vidhya Nidhi and Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities. However, the only difference is that the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule BC Overseas Vidhya Nidhi will be given to candidates belonging to the BC or EBC category.
