IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2022

Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India or any of the following categories.

  • – a subject of Nepal or
  • – a subject of Bhutan or

IBPS Clerk Selection Process & Exam Pattern 2022

IBPS Clerk exam is conducted in two phases, namely, Preliminary and Main. The prelims exam is conducted only to shortlist candidates for the Mains exam. The final selection is based on a candidate’s performance in the Mains examination. There is no interview for the selection of the post of Clerk.

The preliminary examination will have three sections like before. The number of questions and marking scheme for each section are tabulated below:

Each of these sections has been separately timed, which means there is separate time allotted for each section and candidates must finish off each of these sections within the allotted time.

In both prelims and mains, for every wrong answer, a candidate will lose one-fourth or 25% of the mark assigned to that question. However, there is no negative marking for questions not attempted. Candidates must prepare properly and take a lot of IBPS Clerk mock tests so that they do not lose out marks.

Changes in IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern 2022?

There were certain changes introduced from the Main exam of IBPS Clerk 2017 and that are listed below:

  1. The total number of questions have been reduced from 200 to 190.
  2. The total time duration for the exam has been increased from 135 minutes to 160 minutes.
  3. The Reasoning and Computer Aptitude sections, which were two separate sections until 2016, have been merged together into one single section.
  4. The number of questions and time duration for each section has also been changed.
