IISER Exam Counselling Rounds 2023

For IISER admission, there are three different rounds of counselling, as mentioned below:

• Round 1: Candidates who passed the IISER 2022 Aptitude Test or the KVPY Basic Science Stream (SCB) are eligible for this round.
• Round 2: This round is for seat allotment of JEE Advanced candidates.
• Round 3: The final round is for IISER seat allotment of SCB candidates and to fill any remaining JEE Advanced and KVPY seats through the SCB channel.

Steps To Participate in IISER Counselling 2023

The shortlisted candidates need to apply for counselling for seat allotment in the preferred campus. Find below the steps for appearing for IISER 2023 counselling:

1. Filling Out the Application Form

The shortlisted candidates will be required to apply for counselling via online mode. The authorities will release separate application forms for each channel. Only the registered candidate will be allowed to appear for the counselling round. 

2. Choice Filling

Candidates will not only be required to fill in the general details but also the choice of course and institute. They must provide the preferences in the order of priority for seat allotment. The authorities will consider the choice given by the candidate while allotting the seat. 

3. Document Verification

The candidates who have filled out the application form will be called at the respective IISER centre for document verification. The authorities will release the list of documents that an applicant needs to carry at the counselling.

They will verify the details given in the application form via the original documents. Aspirants failing to produce the documents in the counselling round will not be allotted seats in any of the institutes. 

4. Seat Allotment 

After the document verification, authorities will allot the seats to the candidates based on the secured rank, availability of seats, preference and number of seats reserved for each channel. 

5. Fee Payment

Candidates need to pay a non-refundable seat acceptance fee or SAF toze the option. Find below the acceptance for different categories-

How To Practice Questions on IISER Aptitude Test?

Know the steps to practice questions on IISER 2023 aptitude test below:

• 1st Step: Visit Embibe’s official website, i.e., embibe.com.
• 2nd Step: Use the mobile number/email to log in.
• 3rd Step: Click on the menu bar “Getting into my dream undergraduate college.” 
• 4th Step: Select the Goal “Talent and Scholarship Tests” from the Dropdown and click on “Next”.
• 5th Step: Select “IISER Aptitude” and click on “Next”.
• 6th Step: Select the preferred language and click on “Done”.
• 7th Step: Click “Practice” from the Header Section.
• 8th Step: Scroll down to the “Practice Chapters From IISER Aptitude” section.
• 9th Step: Click on any of the IISER chapters to begin the practice.

IISER Options in Seat Allotment

The authorities will conduct the IISER 2023 seat allotment in several rounds for all three channels based on the rank and availability of seats. They will also consider the choice of the candidate during the allotment. Candidates will be given the following options during seat allotment-

• Float – If the candidate does not get the seat of his choice, he or she can use the float option to appear for the subsequent rounds. Such candidates will get the seats in the further rounds of counselling (if any). 
• Freeze – If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat, he or she canze the option upon fee payment. Theze option once exercised cannot be changed under any circumstances. 

Documents Required at the Time of IISER Counselling 2023

The candidates will be required to bring the below-mentioned documents for verification-

• Admit card of JEE Advanced, KVPY and IISER
• Marksheet and certificate of 10+2
• Counselling letter
• Scorecard of JEE Advanced, KVPY and IISER Aptitude Test
• Recent photograph
• Category certificate (if required)
