RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is conducting its annual RRB ALP Exam for the recruitment of Asst. Loco Pilots and Technicians vacancies. The official notification is expected to be released in the month of February, 2022.

The exam is being conducted to fill around 37,000+ vacancies, and it can be taken in over 12 different Indian languages across the country. The exam will be conducted in 3 phases: Paper-1, Paper-2 and Paper-3. It should be noted that Paper-3 is only applicable for candidates appearing for the ALP post. RRB ALP Exam 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The Railway Recruitment Board has set some criteria for candidates to apply for the examination. The eligibility is based on age, nationality, educational qualification etc.

Nationality Criteria

  • Must be a citizen of India or
  • Must be a citizen of Nepal or
  • Must be a citizen of Bhutan or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational Qualification

The Railways Recruitment Board has set certain educational qualification criteria to apply for the examination. Make sure to verify your eligibility with the details as shown below:

Asst. Loco Pilot:

A candidate who has completed their Matriculation/ SSLC along with ITI/ any Apprentice course/ Diploma or Degree in engineering will be eligible to apply.

Age Criteria

Aspirants planning to apply for this examination must be between the ages of 18 and 28. However, the RRB has set certain age relaxations for people of various categories like SC/ST, OBC. Please find the age relaxations list from the table as shown below:

On clearing all the 3 exams successfully, selected candidates must go through a medical fitness test, in order to ensure their fitness to carry out their responsibilities suitably.
