Studying can get boring at times when it goes on for too long. This happens mainly during exams, where on one hand you have to study and on another nothing goes into your head. So getting a solution to all these problems is a must. Here is how you can study and enjoy at the same time. this will help you continue studying for a really long time without getting bored or carried away.
- Listen to music:
Whenever you are studying subjects like maths, science etc you need to listen to music. This helps you keep going on without getting bored.
- Eat some healthy snacks:
When studying and solving problems, it’s best to eat when you are studying for a long time. This prevents you from getting bored or worked up at any point in time. Eating helps you with your mouth movements so its like doing something different from the same boring schedule.
- Check if your room is lit up to the fullest:
Light is very important since if your eyes get tired you cannot study much you will have to give up even if you don’t want to.
- Ventilation should be checked:
When you are comfortable you can grasp more. Oxygen makes your body relax and helps you to study for long hours. Even the room temperature plays an important role if you feel too hot or too cold you cannot study as you cannot concentrate.
- Make a time table:
Your schedule should be in front of your eyes always, this will prevent any sort of time waste. Plus you will know exactly how time you have on hand to finish the undone work. It’s like planning your time vs your work. You can make this like a game by keeping a timer and trying to finish things before the time required. So you will end up competing with yourself and you’ll love to go on.
- Look at the topics you are studying from a different perspective:
Try something imaginary. Think is you were a cat how would you look at things. Or is you were you, Dad, how would you read and what would you think about the topic you study on. I’m sure you’ll have lot’s of fun doing so.
- Keep in mind- what you study is beyond simply what you see:
Every concept you study is precious as somewhere in the real world it is applied. You can try to understand where particular topics can be applied and how they can be applied. This will make you inquisitive and will give you an aim and challenge to go on. Many basic things have applications you may not know about but when you find it out you will understand how useful it is.
- Get a pet:
You need to talk to someone at times who can stare at you without an answer that’s when pets come into the picture. You can keep talking rubbish or sing a song. You can play with them or simply take them for along for a walk.
- Make flash cards:
Flash cards are short precise notes you prepare. So you can make flash cards of many colors for different formulae pick a color and guess what it has. If you guess right you can give yourself an award anything you want. Even a short break from studying 😉
- Picturize concepts:
Draw pictures with short notes or reminder points. Since every human has a tendency to remember pictures faster than any sound. So it’s our eyes that grasp things faster. Also, drawing is another way to gear up your brains to think how you’re going to portray a sentence in a figure.
- Read using different accents:
This is totally fun and interesting too. When you try a different accent you tend to remember what you say as it sounds as something you’ve never heard before. It’s to energize you, also for long hours of boring study you need something to make you laugh.
- Use mnemonics:
Again a faster way to remember and not forget stuff you’ve learned. Here you make words out of the first letter of everything you need to remember. So if you remember the first letter you remember the word.
- Act as your teacher:
It’s a rare opportunity and the one you get only in a room where you are alone. You have the power to basically act as anyone so why not act as your teacher who comes to your mind the most when you study. Teach yourself instead of studying, so you can be more responsible.
- Compete with yourself:
Competition is something we don’t really like but we can’t even give up on this. You can even compete with a trophy and kind of trophy you have at home. You know yourself the best so when you compete with yourself you tend to develop and improve a lot more. So the ultimate motto is to be better that what you are.
- Draw and make posters:
Drawing whether you are good at it or not is the best creative time pass you can do. In this case, you are and you aren’t studying at the same time. You can draw the cycles of photosynthesis, animal cell etc and color it.
- Take short breaks:
Short breaks are to drink water or simply stare at your ceiling for some time and think about what you are doing. You can think about what you’ve studied or your aims and aspirations in life.
- Ultimately – It matters most how your see yourself:
If you see yourself as a strong achiever then that’s what you are if not then that’s what you become. It’s all about your mindset. You need to see yourself in a better position and you need to think positive and you’ll achieve a lot in that way. because if you think you can’t then you won’t even try.
