Documents to Carry at AFCAT Exam Centre

Candidates must carry the mandatory documents to the exam centre along with the AFCAT admit card. The following is the list of documents that candidates have to carry to the AFCAT exam centre:

  • AFCAT e-hall ticket
  • Aadhaar card (Mandatory)
  • Two passport size photographs, same as uploaded while filling the online AFCAT application form.
  • A valid photo ID card, like PAN card, passport, driving license, voter’s ID card, college ID card or any other National ID proof which is duly signed by the Gazetted Officer.
  • Ballpoint Pen (Blue or Black) for signing on the attendance sheet and rough work.

Items Not Allowed at Exam Centre

The candidate must not carry the following things to the AFCAT examination centre:

  • Bluetooth devices, communication/ electronic/ digital/ wireless devices like calculators, docupen, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, cellular phone, memory card/ stick, pager, organiser, personal digital assistant (PDA), concealed microphone or camera, radio, headset, Walkman, recorder, translator, etc.
  • Any stationery material such as pencil box/ geometry box, book, log tables, clipboard, slide rule except the black and blue transparent ballpoint pen.
  • Any personal items, such as wristwatch/wristband, bracelets, handbags, ornaments, wallet, purse, headgear, scarf, goggles, jackets.
  • Eatable items like chips, chocolates, food, drinks, etc., are also not allowed inside the exam hall.

Important Points on AFCAT Exam Pattern

Candidates may take a note of a few important points regarding the AFCAT Exam as given below:

  • AFCAT and EKT will consist of objective-type questions.
  • The medium of question paper for both exams is English.
  • The duration of AFCAT is 120 minutes (02 hours), and EKT is 45 minutes.
  • Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
  • One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • No marks for unattempted questions.

  • Candidates are advised not to laminate the admit card issued by the officials.
  • Candidates who impersonate will be legally punished.
  • It is mandatory for all the candidates to sit in the examination hall during the entire time of the exam , even after finishing the paper early.

AFCAT COVID-19 Guidelines

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the central government introduced some important guidelines for candidates that have to be followed at the examination centre. All the appearing aspirants must adhere to these instructions, or else the officials of the conducting body will not allow them to enter the exam hall.

  • Candidates must have the latest version of the ‘Aarogya Setu’ App on their mobile phones.
  • The Aarogya Setu status must show the candidate’s risk factor.
  • Candidates will have to display the Aarogya Setu status at the entry gate. Thereafter, candidates will be required to switch off their mobile phones and deposit them at the designated location to be collected while exiting.
  • Candidates must carry a hand sanitiser, gloves and face masks at the exam centre.
  • Candidates’ faces should be covered with protective masks.
  • Candidates must make sure that they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms. In case they do, their entry will be strictly prohibited on the spot.
