AIIMS Full Form

AIIMS Full Form: The full form of AIIMS is All India Institute of Medical Sciences. In Hindi, the full form of AIIMS is अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान. AIIMS is a group of autonomous government public medical universities under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. AIIMS, New Delhi was established in the year 1956.

History of AIIMS

AIIMS was founded in 1956. It was proposed by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Amrit Kaur, who was the first Health Minister of India acquired a huge amount of funds from the New Zealand government for the establishment and funding of AIIMS. It was established by Parliament’s Act to serve as a pioneer in healthcare services and encourage medicine studies. It is also given the status of Institutes of National Importance (INI).
