AIIMS Admission 2022: Application Form, Eligibility

NEET is the single entrance examination for admission to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. AIIMS and JIPMER MBBS entrance exams have been discontinued, and medical courses across the country now rely on the NEET UG exam. To get admission at AIIMS, New Delhi, candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria and submit the NEET UG registration form on time.

NTA has extended the NEET 2022 application process till May 20, 2022. The candidates who had missed the last chance to apply for NEET can now apply for the same. Students who attain the required marks in NEET 2022 are eligible for the AIIMS MBBS admissions process. AIIMS Admission 2022: Application Form

Applicants must register on the official NEET website before applying. Below are the steps to fill out the NEET application form 2022.

NEET 2022 Registration

Below are the steps for candidates to register for NEET 2022:

  • Visit the NEET official website – neet.nta.nic.in
  • Click on “NEET (UG) 2022 Application”.
  • Now click on “New Registration”.
  • The NEET 2022 Registration window will open. Candidates have to fill in their personal details like name, date of birth, gender etc. 
  • Click on the checkbox and tap on “Click here to Proceed”.
  • NEET application number will be generated and displayed on the screen.

How to Fill NEET 2022 Application Form?

  • Log in to the official website using your credentials.
  • Fill out the application form for NEET 2022 with the necessary details.
  • Upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format.
  • Now, pay the application fee.
  • Click on the “Submit” button. 

Note: Candidates are advised to save the login credentials and take a printout of the application form for future references.

NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility criteria must be met by applicants before filling out the NEET application form:

 NEET 2022 – Age Limit
– A student must have completed 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of their admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

– At present, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has removed the upper age limit for all candidates willing to appear for the UG NEET exams. Earlier, the upper age limit for general candidates was 25 years. The upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved and PwD categories was 30 years.

– Note that candidates will have to upload proof of their date of birth while filling up the NEET application form.
2. NEET 2022 – Educational Qualification
– The candidate must have passed Class 12 Board Exams from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects.

– The candidate must have passed these subjects mentioned above individually and must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Biotechnology, in the qualifying examination.

– For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the aggregate marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Biotechnology, in qualifying examinations must be 40% instead of 50% for General candidates. For PwD candidates, the minimum qualifying mark is 45%.

– Those who are appearing in the Class XII examination in 2022 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions in the NEET notification later.

– NIOS students and students with Biology as an additional subject can also appear for NEET 2022.
3. NEET 2022 – 15% All India Quota
– Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Foreign Nationals are eligible for 15% of All India Quota seats.

Please note that there is no limitation for number of attempts for NEET 2022.

AIIMS MBBS Delhi Cut-off 2022

NTA will release the cut-off for AIIMS this year. Below-given are the deciding factors for cut-off:

  1. The number of students who appeared for the exam
  2. The difficulty level of the paper
  3. The number of seats
  4. All India Quota and State Quota

As for the cut-off for 2022, it will vary by category. Candidates can learn about the expected cut-off for AIIMS after the NTA announces the results.

AIIMS Admission 2022: NEET UG Counselling Procedure

Let us look at the NEET UG counselling procedure in detail:

1st Step: NEET Counselling Registration 202122

Candidates who have qualified for the NEET 2022 must register for the NEET counselling process. Candidates must visit the MCC website, mcc.nic.in, to register for the 2021-22 counselling session. Please follow the below steps to register for NEET counselling.

  • Visit the MCC official website, i.e. mcc.nic.in.
  • On the homepage, select the ‘UG Medical Counselling’ tab.
  • Click on the ‘New registration’ link.
  • Enter name, father’s name, mother’s name, category, email ID, mobile number and other details (as shown in the image below).

  • The user ID and password will be sent to the registered email ID.
  • On the login screen, enter the details and login credentials. Complete the NEET counselling registration process.
  • The registration fee for NEET counselling must be paid online only.
  • Take the printout of the confirmation page and transaction fee.

2nd Step: Fee Payment

After filling out the NEET counselling registration form, NEET-UG candidates must pay the registration fee. Candidates can use a debit card, credit card or net banking to pay the registration fee.

3rd Step: Choice Locking

This step will include choosing the preferred courses and colleges. Candidates will see a list of the Candidate will be shown a list of colleges for which they qualify, and then they are asked to select their preferences based on priority. Candidates need to double-check their choices before submitting them. Once the options have been locked or the deadline for filling out choice forms for NEET Counselling has passed, they will not be able to alter their choices.

4th Step: Seat Allotment Result

During the NEET seat allotment process, the MCC issues a list of all the seats that have been allotted as per the merit list, based on the NEET 2022 scores.

5th Step: Report to the College

Following the NEET seat allotment process, candidates are expected to report to the college they have been assigned within a certain period of time.

6th Step: Payment of Fee

Candidates will have to pay the tuition fee and confirm their admission. The tuition fee will vary as per the institute. Candidates joining the colleges under 15% AIQ/Central Universities need to pay INR 10,000/- if from the general category and INR 5,000/- if from the reserved category. Moreover, Deemed University candidates of all categories should pay INR 2,00,000.

Documents Required for NEET Counselling

Following the NEET seat allotment process, candidates are expected to report to the college they have been assigned within a certain period of time. Candidates must carry the following important documents to their respective colleges:

  4. Class 10 and 12 Scorecards and Certificate
  5. ID Proof or a certificate displaying the candidate’s nationality

NEET Counselling 2022: Mop-up Round

Here is the procedure followed for the NEET Mop-Up Round Counselling for Central/Deemed Universities/ ESIC/ AIIMS and JIPMER:

  • 1st Step: Fresh Registration for the Mop-up round (please note that registration is not required for the candidates who have resigned in the earlier NEET admission rounds).
  • 2nd Step: Once the candidates have gone through the registration, the next thing they have to do is fill in their preferences for the respective institutes and courses.
  • 3rd Step: NEET seat allotment for the mop-up round of counselling in the process.
  • 4th Step: The officials will then announce the seat allotment list on the official website in PDF.
  • 5th Step: Reporting at the allotted medical or dental institute during this round.
  • 6th Step: The number of stray vacant seats is listed. This list will be sent to the Deemed or Central Universities so that these seats can be filled up in order of merit. This number will be ten times the registered candidates in the mop-up round.
  • 7th Step: The vacancy round of the final stray will be conducted by the Deemed/Central Universities. Please note that there will be no new registration of the candidates considered in this round.
