They should have passed their class 8 examinations.
They must have passed the qualifying examination from an institution affiliated with CBSE or any other recognised board, or the institute itself should be recognised by the Education Department of the Government of the respective state or union territory.
The student also has to satisfy the requirement of lower as well as upper age limits as specified by the government of the state or union territory.
Furthermore, the student has to produce the following documents at school.
The school leaving certificate/transfer certificate signed by the Head of the Institution last attended, if applicable.
Students must produce all the documents related to the qualifying or equivalent examination, including the passing certificate or result.

Special Scheme of Assessment for CBSE Class 9 Exam 2022-23
CBSE has released a special scheme of assessment for the academic session 2022-23. All schools have to follow the same and conduct the examinations accordingly. Students can check the special scheme below:
The board has divided the academic session into two terms, i.e. Term I and Term II with approximately 50% syllabus in each.
CBSE has released a rationalised syllabus, and the same has to be followed by the schools.
As per the guidelines and moderation policy, the internal assessments/practicals/project work is now more credible and valid.
The internal assessment consists of three periodic tests. In addition, it also consists of student enrichment, portfolio, and practical work/speaking listening activities/project work.
Schools have to create a student profile for all the assessments taken throughout the year and maintain the records in digital format.
