CBSE: Reform Educational Evaluation in Schools

Madhya Pradesh, in a much needed reform has accepted the CBSE method of continuous evaluation. It is called as Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation.

Children will be able to self-assess their performance after the three-monthly and half-yearly examinations. They will also get a chance to improve their performance in the final examinations: SR Mohanty

Evaluation will not only be based on academics but also on co-academic fields and extra-curricular activities like art, music, sports and social activities. The CBSE schools do follow the continuous evaluation pattern which is successful so we are hopeful too.

There have been more than 45 students who have committed suicide this year majorly because of low scores and examination stress. There has been a rise of 240% in suicide between the year 2005-2014. This figure is shocking and disappointing.
