Celebrities who did not join IIT even after clearing JEE

Narayan Murthy (Co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of Infosys)

He cleared IIT JEE but did not join any of the IITs as his father could not afford the cost of his education and stay in a different city/town.

Eventually he joined the National Institute of Engineering, University of Mysore for a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and then got his Master’s Degree from IIT Kanpur.

Mayuri Kango

Her first famous film was “papa kehte hain” by Bhatt Saab and she looked gorgeous in the songs. She did not join IIT even after clearing JEE but opted for acting instead.

Prashant Bhushan

Prashant Bhushan rose to celebrity status during the IAC days with Anna Hazare &Arvind Kejriwal. He quit IITM in the first semester to study economics then philosophy and finally law. He was also in news for a controversial statement regarding plebiscite in Kashmir.

Sanjeev Bikhchandani

He is founder of Naukri.com cleared IIT only to join St Stephens for a Economics Honours . His life is a fantastic story of persistence and hard work, should give it a look .
