ESIC Stenographer 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The ESIC Stenographer eligibility criteria include the criteria that candidates must meet to be eligible to fill out the ESIC Stenographer application form. The following are the eligibility criteria for ESIC Stenographer 2023:

ESIC Steno — Nationality

A candidate must be either:

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or 

(e) a person of Indian origin who arrived in India with the intention of permanently settling in India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

A candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) above must be a person in whose favour the Government of India has issued a certificate of eligibility.

A candidate who requires a certificate of eligibility may be admitted to the programme.

ESIC Steno — Age Limit

As on the dates specified by the authorities, the applicants must be at least 18 years old and a maximum of 27 years old.

For members of the reserved groups (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen), as well as for ESIC employees and government employees, the upper age restriction may be relaxed in the following ways:

ESIC Steno — Education Qualification

  • The candidate must have a higher Secondary (Matric with 12th class pass) or equivalent qualification.
  • Dictation: A stenography speed of 80 words per minute in English or Hindi.
  • Transcription: 50 minutes (English), 65 minutes (Hindi) (Only on computers).
  • The candidate must have computer skills, including the use of office suites and databases.
