IFS Exam 2022: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination every year to recruit candidates. IFS 2022 Prelims was conducted on June 5, 2022. IFS Exam 2022 Vacancy

Aspiring candidates must check the vacancy for IFS before applying for the exam. UPSC has notified 151 vacancies for IFS 2022. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD categories are eligible for reservation as per the policies of the government. IFS Exam 2022 Eligibility

The officials prescribe the eligibility criteria for the candidates who wish to take the exam. One needs to fulfil all nationality, academic and age requirements to apply for the exam. The officials reject the applications of the ineligible candidates. Hence, it is significant to go through the criteria once. Check below the eligibility conditions for the IFS exam:

Nationality

Aspirants who are:

  • Citizens of India or, 
  • A subject of Nepal and Bhutan.

Age Limit

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 21 years old to apply for the exam.
  • Aspirants, not more than 32 years are eligible to apply.
  • There is a relaxation in the upper age limit for the below-mentioned categories.

Academic Qualification

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any one of the subjects- Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology are eligible.
  • Aspirants with bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or Engineering can also apply.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the final exam of bachelors and awaiting result can apply for the preliminary exam. 

Number of Attempts

  • The officials allow a minimum of six attempts for eligible candidates. However, the restriction on attempts does not apply on SC/ST category aspirants.
  • The number of attempts for OBC category candidates is nine. 

IFS Exam 2022 Registration

UPSC conducts the application process via online mode. Candidates need to fill out an application form with the necessary details to register for the exam. The officials scrutinize the applications of the candidates and verify the same before processing it. One needs to fill out a single application form. Multiple applications are allowed only in case of an unavoidable situation. Incomplete details or forms with false information will lead to disqualification of the candidates. 1st Step: Registration

Candidates need to provide details such as name, date of birth, mail id, mobile number etc. to register for the exam. On successful registration, aspirants will receive an id and password for further login.

2nd Step: Fill out the Application Form

3rd Step: Upload the Documents

Candidates need to upload a scanned image of photograph, signature and photo-id card.

4th Step: Pay the Application Fee

Candidates (except female/SC/ST/PwD) need to pay a fee of INR via any of the online payment modes to register for the exam.

IFS Exam 2022 Admit Card

The official’s issue admit cards to the registered aspirants via online mode. The IFS admit card is usually available three weeks before the commencement of the examination. Candidates will need to log in on the official website of UPSC to download the hall ticket. Aspirants need to carry admit card and the photo-id card (uploaded during the application process) for the exam. The admit card comprises exam details such as date, day, time, venue etc. In case of any discrepancy, aspirants must contact the concerned authority for correction.

IFS Exam Pattern 2022
