Indian Army Agniveer GD 2023 Selection Process

It is essential to be aware of all the phases of the Indian Army Agniveer General Duty Recruitment 2023 and prepare accordingly. The three stages are as follows: 

  • Stage 1: CEE (Common Entrance Exam)
  • Stage 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  • Stage 3: Medical Test

Note: Earlier, applicants had to pass a physical fitness test and then medical exams before sitting for the CEE. However, according to the revision, common online CEE is now the first step.

Agniveer General Duty Selection Stage 1: CEE

The first phase of the Indian Army Agniveer recruitment process is the CEE. It consists of objective-type questions, which means there will be four options given to candidates, out of which they have to select 1 correct response. The exam will be bilingual, with questions in both Hindi and English. Each incorrect response will result in a 0.5 marks deduction from the final score. Agniveer General Duty Selection Stage 2: Physical Test (Rally)

Candidates who qualify the CEE will only be eligible to appear for this round. It is conducted to determine whether or not the candidate is physically fit for the Army GD. The PFT and PMT prescribed by authorities for the General Duty examination are mentioned below.

Additionally, candidates need to qualify for the zig-zag balance and 9 feet ditch test to be eligible for the next stage of the selection process.

Physical Fitness Test for Female Candidates

  • There will be a 1.6 Km Run
    • Upto 7 Min 30 Sec – Group – I
    • Upto 8 Min – Group – II
  • Long Jump 10 Feet – Need to qualify
  •  High Jump 3 Feet – Need to qualify

There is also a provision for extra time for a 1.6 Km run in hilly terrain: 

  • Between 5000 Ft to 9000 Ft – Add 30 Secs to all timings.
  • Between 9000 Ft to 12000 Ft – Add 120 Secs to all timings

Agniveer General Duty Selection Stage 3: Medical Test

Applicants who clear the first two rounds will only be eligible for this round. Candidates must report to the designated Military Hospital within 5 days of referral and go through the medical test, which the Military Hospital must complete within 14 days per policy. The Indian Army may choose to administer the following tests for candidates:

  • Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC 
  • Urine RE/ME
  • Biochemistry 
  • Blood Sugar Fasting & PP
  • Serum Cholesterol 
  • Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine
  • LFT- Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT 
  • X-Ray chest (PA view)
