Leave Concession

Indian Navy Officers can relish sufficient leave time. Indian Navy Officers are allowed to take 60 days of annual leave and 20 days of casual leave. Sailor Salary During Training

All sailors will receive a stipend during their training period at the rate of Rs. 5700 per month. The rate of the stipend will be increased by 50% every time the DA payable on the revised pay band goes up by 50%.

Life Insurance Schemes

The Naval Group Insurance Scheme originated in the form of the Officers and Sailors Welfare Assistance Scheme in April 1969. Sailor Retirement Policy

  1. A sailor has to serve up to a minimum of 15 years to be eligible for a service pension and other post-retirement benefits.
  2. Before retirement, sailors are provided with many job-oriented courses and requisite training for available jobs. There is a dedicated organisation (Directorate General, Resettlement (DGR) at RK Puram, New Delhi) that looks after resettlement prospects of all retired personnel.
