1- Electrical Engineering– Electrical engineering teaches a student from the construction of a small battery to putting life into large machines. This field of engineering is a base of all other specializations. It trains engineers to construct, maintain and repair the power source of any device. Electrical engineers learn about building large power sources, providing power to large machines or dams, constructing power supplies for a whole city. After the invention of electricity in the 19th century, Electrical engineering became a trending subject.
In any era, electricity will always be a base power almost every machine in the world requires. Here the knowledge varies from building a small circuit to building large power generators. The scope of Electrical engineering is also good. As some of the trending posts electrical engineers get are Firmware Engineer, Control Engineer, Application Engineer, Project Engineer, Chief Electrical Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer etc.
2- Civil Engineering– A civil engineer is one who designs and constructs our homes or offices. In India, Civil Engineering is one of the trending specializations of Engineering. Under this specialization, students learn about designing and constructing buildings, renovations of heritages, ancient building techniques, and archeology terms and also about Earthquake and natural disasters protection technology. Some of the common works Biomedical engineers do is Designing and Constructing Synthetic Body Parts, Training Medical Staff about using Biomedical Equipment, Constructing and Designing Biomedical Equipment like Ultrasound Machines, MRI Machines, Medical Lasers, and X-Ray Machines etc. These engineers also work for research organizations, government medical organizations, medical consultancies, and Biomedical equipment manufacturing industries etc. It is mandatory to have a medical background in 10+2 to be eligible for this course.
5- Chemical Engineering– Chemical Engineers mostly work for industries which manufacture chemicals like medicines, education sectors as teachers or lab heads, Genetic Engineers, Uranium Cyclers, Nano-manufacturer, and Agricultural Engineer etc. Chemical engineering requires a good knowledge of chemicals. Here students learn about various uses of chemicals regarding various industries like nuclear sectors, Synthetic Production, Basic Chemical Manufacturing, and Food Manufacturing Industries.
6- Aerospace Engineering– Aerospace Engineering students learn about constructing small fans in building large planes. It is divided into two parts Aircraft Engineering and Spacecraft Engineering. Aircraft engineering is generally based on building aircraft for various purposes like Cargo, Passenger aircraft etc. While, Spacecraft engineering is all about building drones, ships or propellers for the vehicles of space. Also, in this field, students learn about the technology used in Satellites, Drones or various spy drones as well. In India, some of the common recruiters are ISRO, JET Airways, and Airbus etc.
7- Petroleum Engineering– Petroleum engineering trains engineers to work for mining or oil extraction industries. Here students learn about various raw materials which are being extracted to make final petrol or gases. It covers the study of various natural and unnatural gases, coals, petrol or other flammable and non-flammable fuels etc. Most common sectors where Petroleum engineers get hired are Petrol Extraction Industries, Gas Production or Extraction Industries, Petrol Import and Export Industries. The scope of international placement is good for the engineers of this branch. Gulf countries and American countries are common recruiters for petroleum engineers.
8- Marine Engineering- This branch of engineering is based on watercraft and vehicles which run into or underwater. Either it’s about building a small propeller or a large cruise ship. It includes designing and constructing submarines, cargo ships or small motor boats. Apart from that, this study also includes various types of underwater technology and the mechanism like piping or propulsion technology. It covers some other terms like filtering water, using techniques to get rid of the water waste etc.
To be eligible for this engineering branch, it is mandatory to have at least basic English speaking skills. The reason behind the requirement of English speaking skills is that most common job roles marine engineers’ plays are international. Also, it is mandatory to be physically fit which will be tested before selecting the candidate for the course. Also, it is mandatory to have a 10+2 certificate from any government certified board or institute to be eligible for this course. Also, having a PCM background is mandatory.
9- Automotive Engineering – Automotive engineering is specifically based on designing, constructing, repairing or renovating all kind of vehicles. From building a small gear to large cranes, automotive engineers learn everything about a vehicle. Apart from that, automobile engineers are specifically based on cars. They learn everything from the beginning till the end about each and every term related to all type of cars.
The scope of automotive engineers is much higher due to the reason that they get jobs for any industries which construct any kind of vehicle, like Bicycle, Motorbike, Cars or trucks, etc. Though, automotive engineers are in a good competition with Mechanical Engineers. Due to reason that mechanical engineer is much wider than automotive engineering. Automotive or Automobile engineering is just a part of mechanical engineering.
10– Computer Engineering- Computers are being used almost in every sector of the modern era. From building a microchip to building large systems for NASA or ISRO, these engineers have large varieties of the terms to learn. Computer engineering is generally divided into two parts of the study. One is based on Hardware engineering and other is based on Software engineering. Under hardware engineering, a computer engineer learns about various aspects which make a full computer like CPU processors, graphics cards, ram, hard drives, DVD drivers etc.
On the other hand, Software engineers learn things like building firmware, operating systems like Linux windows, Software or Internet Securities, Customized programs or software’s, designing and constructing games etc. For these engineers, a good scope is available in sectors like Cyber based services, Cyber Crime departments, Software building organizations etc. It is mandatory to have a PCM background in 10+2 to be eligible for a graduate level of this course. Institutes like IITs and NITs are some of the prominent colleges which provide top placements.
11– Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) – Electronics and Communication Engineering is a part of electrical engineering which is specifically based on designing and constructing and technology or component which is related to the broadcasting system. In the modern era, various communication methods like radio, televisions etc. are being used. Electronics and communication engineers use their skills and knowledge to build important pillars for them. These engineers learn about various machines which are being used in the modern communication process. It doesn’t matter if it’s a very small transistor or a giant network tower; they learn everything about it from the very beginning till the end.
