Neet Attempt Trends Over the Years

NTA will inform about the rules and regulations related to the number of attempts in NEET 2023 only when the brochure for the medical entrance exam is released. Meanwhile, candidates can check this space to learn about the NEET attempts and regulations that NTA has been following since 2017.

There are chances that NEET 2023 will follow the same age guidelines as the NEET exam 2022. However, this will be confirmed only after NTA releases the guidelines for the NEET 2023 exam. In the regulations implemented in NEET 2022, the lower age limit was 17 years of age. The upper age limit was removed for the NEET exam 2022.

  • CBSE implemented upper age limit criteria and NEET attempt limit criteria in 2017.
  • According to this rule, candidates were only allowed to take the NEET three times. Those who have already taken the NEET three times in the previous three years were not permitted to take it again in 2017.

NEET Qualifying Examination Codes

The NEET qualifying codes (1-7) with a description are given in the table below:

NEET Eligibility Criteria: Upper Age Limit Eliminated

NMC removed the upper age limit for NEET 2022, per the update released on March 9, 2022. Aspirants above 17 years of age could apply for the NEET examination. Previously, the upper age limit was 25 years for general merit candidates and 30 years for category candidates.
