SBI PO 2021: SBI PO Salary

As per the latest notification, the basic SBI PO Salary is Rs. 27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I.

The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical, and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. The total compensation per annum on the CTC basis be a minimum of 8.20 lacs and a maximum of 13.08 lacs depending on the place of posting and other factors.

SBI PO 2021: SBI PO Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are required to meet the following eligibility criteria for the post of SBI PO:

Educational Qualification 
  1. Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
  2. Those who are in the Final Year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for Interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2021.
  3. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.12.2021. Candidates possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.
Age Limit (As on 1st April 2021)
  1. Applicants should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2021, i.e., candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2000 and not earlier than 02.04.1991 (both days inclusive).

Requirement Of Scanned Documents

When applying for the exam, aspirants need to upload scanned images of their Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression and a Hand-written Declaration. The requirements are as under:

  1. Photograph: Your photograph should be a recent one and passport-sized. Its dimension should be 200 pixels x 230 pixels and the size of the photograph should be 20-50 kb.
  2. Signature, Left Thumb Impression, and Hand-Written Declaration: Aspirants signature should be in black ink on a white paper. Left Thumb Impression should be in black or blue ink on a white paper. Hand-Written Declaration should be written in English with black ink on a white paper. The dimension of the said documents should be 140 pixels x 60 pixels and the size of the documents should be 10-20 kb.

SBI PO 2021: SBI PO Selection Process & Exam Pattern

SBI PO exam follows a three-tier selection process. Candidates are required to get through each of the stages to reach on to the next level. The stages involved in the selection of aspirants are as under:

3rd Stage: Group Exercises and Interview

The SBI PO Exam Pattern for Prelims is as under:

1. SBI PO Preliminary Exam

The SBI PO Preliminary exam is an objective type test and is conducted for a one-hour duration. The exam has 3 sections having a total of 100 questions with a maximum score of 100 marks. For each wrong answer, there is a negative marking of 0.25. In order to qualify for the SBI PO Mains, it is required of the aspirants to clear the overall cut off marks for Prelims.

2. SBI PO Main Exam

SBI PO Mains has two sections- Objective and Descriptive. The objective section is of 200 marks and the Descriptive section carries 50 marks. Both of these tests are taken online. A descriptive test will be conducted right after the completion of the objective test on the same day.

The SBI PO Mains objective test is of 3 hours duration and consists of 4 sections carrying a total of 200 marks. The objective test has separate timings for every section.

SBI PO descriptive test carries 50 marks with a time duration of 30 minutes. This section tests your English writing skills as it contains two sections: Letter Writing and Essay.

3. Group Exercises and Interview

Selection for the Group Exercises and Interview will be based on a category-wise merit list. The category-wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Main Examination. There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise and Interview from the top of the category wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score.

20 marks will be given for Group Exercises and 30 marks for the Interview. Candidates qualifying for Group Exercises and Interview under the ‘OBC’ category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy layer’ clause.

Final Selection
  1. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection.
  2. Only the marks obtained in the Main Examination, both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Group Exercise and Interview for preparing the final merit list.
  3. Candidates will have to qualify both in the Prelims and Main exam separately.
  4. Marks secured by the candidates in the Main Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 marks and marks secured in the Group Exercise & Interview out of 50 marks are converted to out of 25 marks.
  5. The final merit list is prepared after aggregating (out of 100) converted marks of Main Examination and Group Exercise & Interview.
  6. The final selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category. SBI PO Result of the candidates who qualify in Main Examination and Group Exercise & Interview, as well as the final selection list, will be made available on the official website.
