Boards 2020-21: Each state in India has its own board of education. And the curriculum set by each board will vary from one to another based on their features. There are 29 states in India and each state follows a different curriculum. Apart from these 29 state boards, there are 3 national boards that will be also conducting Class 10 and Class 12 exams.
In this article, we will provide you with all the necessary information regarding the list of Boards in India along with the Board Exam Dates, Syllabus, Admit Card, Time Table, Question Papers, and Results.

First, we will look into National Board Exams in India followed by that we will go through the State Boards in India.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), and the National Institute of Open Schooling are the three national boards in our country (NIOS). They conduct board exams for students in the 10th and 12th grades every year. The list of national boards in India are tabulated below:
The CBSE is a national education board that is associated with 21,271 schools in India and 228 schools in 25 other countries. As of May 1, 2019, there are 1,138 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), 3,011 Government/Aided schools, 16,741 private schools, 595 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and 14 Central Tibetan schools. Every year in February/March, the CBSE conducts board exams for the 10th and 12th grades.
Exams are held by the Board for both regular and private students. Candidates who intend to continue their education at a distance can apply for admissions and take tests.
After class ten, CBSE offers a variety of disciplines in the Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams to its students. Students can apply for admission to various colleges/universities to pursue higher education after passing class 12th. The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), and other national level entrance tests conducted by CBSE are among the most popular.
The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations for Class 10th and Class 12th, respectively, are conducted by the CISCE, a privately held national-level board of school education in India. It was founded in 1958. The CISCE is connected with around 2,100 schools in India and overseas. Every year in February and March, the Council holds board examinations for students in grades 10 and 12. Exams are exclusively given to regular students by the Board.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an educational board within the Union Government of India (GoI). It was founded in 1989 by the Government of India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to give education to all segments of society with the goal of increasing literacy and paving the way for flexible learning.
The NIOS, like the CBSE and the CISCE, is a national board that administers secondary and senior secondary examinations. After high school, it also provides vocational training. NIOS enrols over 3,50,000 students each year, making it one of the world’s largest open schooling systems. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIOS) conducts board exams twice a year, in March/April and September/October.
