Top NITs For CS Based On JEE Main 2014 Closing Ranks

If you are appearing for your JEE Main, your All India Rank along with the college cutoffs play a crucial role in making or breaking your future, that is, if you plan on getting into your dream college or land on one of the most prestigious engineering institutes in the country. Your admission and branch will depend on the Opening and Closing Ranks of colleges.

Opening Rank refers to the highest rank that is mentioned in the beginning of the cutoff list while the Closing Rank is the last rank/cutoff score that is accepted by the participating colleges. If you score less than the Closing Rank, you will not be considered for the admission in any of the participating colleges.

These scores are usually published on the official website of the colleges as and when they are declared. If there are vacant seats left after the first round of applications, the second cut-off list is issued by the institutes, followed by the third round accordingly. With each subsequent round or counseling session as they are called, the rank comes down. At times, after the third round, spot rounds and extra spot rounds are also held by the institutes.
