UP Scholarship 2023: The Uttar Pradesh government launched the UP scholarship scheme to improve literacy rates in the state and create a skilled workforce to improve socio-economic development. The scholarship details for this year will be available soon.

UP Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST/SC/General Category Students

The criteria for the ST/SC/General categories are as follows,

  • SC/ST/General category students of Class 9 and Class 10 are eligible to apply for the scheme.
  • The annual income of the candidate’s family should not exceed INR 1 lakh.

UP Intermediate Post-Matric Scholarship for ST/SC/General Students

For ST/SC/General category students, the criteria are as follows,

  • SC/ST/General category students of Class 11 and 12 are eligible to apply for the schemes
  • The annual income of the family should not exceed INR 2 lakh for General category students.
  • The annual income of the candidate’s family should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh for SC/ST students,

UP (Non-Intermediate) Post-Matric Scholarship for ST, SC, General Students

The UP (Non-Intermediate) scholarship criteria include,

  • SC/ST/General category students in graduation, post-graduation, PhD or higher level are eligible to apply for the schemes.
  • The candidate’s family’s annual income should not exceed INR 2 lakh (for General candidates) and INR 2.5 Lakh (for SC/ST candidates) from all sources.

UP Other State Post-Matric Scholarship for ST, SC, General Students

The criteria for ST, SC, General students are as follows,

  • SC/ST/General category students studying in Class 11 or above are eligible to apply for the schemes.

UP Post-Matric Scholarship (Other Than Intermediate) for Minorities

  • Minority community students pursuing their graduation, post-graduation, PhD or higher-level education are eligible to apply for the scheme.
  • The annual income of the family should not exceed INR 2 Lakh from all sources.

UP Intermediate Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities

UP Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students

Uttar Pradesh Scholarship Registration Process

The online form is available for post-matric and pre-matric scholarship applicants, who wish to take benefit of online form is available for post-matric and pre-matric scholarship applicants who wish to take benefit of Uttar Pradesh grants to complete their education. The online application Portal- SAKSHAM usually opens in the first week of July, and students can register online and fill out the application form for various grant programmes. 

The steps involved in the application process are listed below:

  • Register on the portal: Students need to register on the SAKSHAM portal by providing basic details such as Name, Class, Category, Aadhar Number, Contact Number, and Email.
    Fill in the form: Once the registration is complete, students must fill in the application form by providing academic and personal details.
  • Upload supporting documents: Upload the documents in the prescribed format to complete the application form.
  • Submit hardcopy to the institute: The last phase of the application is to submit the hardcopy of the UP grant application form to the educational institution. 

Students can fill out the application for both fresh and renewal applications and track their progress and their scholarship status by logging into the Saksham portal. The UP government declares the pre-matric scholarship and post-matric scholarship status on its UP scholarship website once the application process is complete.

Note: In order to ensure quick and reliable service to the students, the Uttar Pradesh Government has made the UP Scholarship registration process completely online.

Various steps in the application process are given below to help students understand the procedure:

  • New Student Registration
    • Visit the UP scholarship official website portal – scholarship.up.gov.in.
    • Click on Student and select Registration from the drop-down menu.
    • Now click on the grant scheme applying for.
    • Enter all the necessary details and click on Submit to register on the portal
    • The system will generate a registration number for the applicant. Make a note of that as it will be required throughout the application process.
    • Now take the printout of the registration page for future reference.
  • Student Scholarship Login
    • For students applying for the UP Grant 2021 for the first time, click on Fresh Login.
    • For students looking to renew the Uttar Pradesh Sarkari scholarship, click on Renewal Login.
    • Students can log in using the registration number (generated at the time of registration), date of birth and password.
    • The system will direct to the page stating application instructions.
    • Read all the instructions carefully.
    • Click on Proceed to fill out the Uttar Pradesh Sarkari scholarship form.
  • Filling up the Online Application Form
    • Now fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
    • Click on Submit.
  • Uploading Supporting Documents for Schemes
    • After filling up the form, the system will ask to upload the supporting documents.
    • Candidates are advised not to upload expired documents in the application form.
    • Upload the documents in the prescribed format and move to final submission.
  • Final Form Submission
    • Check the filled-up application form thoroughly to avoid any mistakes in the application process. Once the form is submitted, there is no provision to update it later. Hence, students should be careful at this stage.
    • Click on Submit after revealing the form.
    • Take a printout of the UP e-Scholarship application form for future reference.
  • Submit the Application Form at the Institution

The application process does not end by submitting the Uttar Pradesh Sarkari Scholarship online form. Students have to submit the printout of the form and the supporting documents at their respective institutions. Many students forget this step of the application process.
